Nice combo unit
At first I was a bit worried when I wasn't getting any picture. Checked the wires a few times. Finally, got a picture. (Apparently, this thing takes a REALLY long time to power up, or whatever its doing.) So far it works well. Just wish it came with the instruction manual, as I'm probably not aware of some of the features.

EXCELLENT DVD/VCR PLAYER RECORDER
A REAL PLEASURE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THESE NICE PEOPLE. PACKAGE CAME AND THE COMBO WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND THE PACKAGING WAS OUTSTANDING AND THE INTERIOR VERY PROTECTED WITH CUSHIONING AND PROTECTION FOR THE CONTENTS.

Had a small issue but solved it.
Could not get the remote to work, kept displaying "RC-2" on the unit display. On page 78 of the manual, it says, "When the following indicator appears on the unit’s display [RC-*] [* = 1,2 or 3], – Change the code on the remote control to match the code displayed for the main unit (

EXCELLENT DVD/VCR PLAYER RECORDER
This is our second one from Porter and the one we have is excellent and we wanted to have another one on hand as the one now is being used many hours a day. We record on both VCR and DVD and pla y movies from Redbox.

Review of Panasonic DVD/VCR
It is becoming more and more difficult to find good dvd/vcr recorders. I am sure that fairly soon they will be extinct. It took me awhile to find just what I wanted, a Panasonic. I had one before and really liked it. This one is just as good. It works very well for all of the recording of old vcr cassets to dvds. I was also impressed that when it did not come with a manual, and I alerted Porter Electronics they immediately emailed me a proper manual. Kudos Porter Electronics. I greatly appreciated that. A good product with good service.
