How It Works

For analog tapes such as VHS, VHS-C, Video8, or Hi8, the VRD-MC6 does not play the tape itself. A compatible VCR or camcorder is connected to the recorder, and the VRD-MC6 records the incoming video onto DVD.

This makes it particularly useful for home-movie preservation because the recording process can be completed without first transferring the footage to a computer.
