Refurbished combo VCR/DVD
I wanted a combo unit to run exercise tapes and DVDs. This machine works perfectly and is in very good condition. The accompanying paperwork from Porter clearly explained their policies (excellent customer service) and included helpful hints about set-up and operation. Excellent experience all around!

Great resource for replacing older electronics
Very happy with the receipt of my JVC VCR/DVD unit. The VCR side works great. Have not tried the DVD side yet. Only comment I offer is that the time between ordering and receiving was an epic wait of 3 weeks.

It worked fine upon receipt and seems to do what we need it to do. It was probably delayed in being shipped by about a week due to the need to locate a replacement remote control. Communication with Porter could have been a bit better (I had to ask rather then them reaching out to me) but overall the product and service were as advertised.

Bought to replace 35 year old player. Works great and will probably last as long as the other. So happy to find a company who restores these players. I have a lot of vhs exercise tapes.

JVC DVD/VCR PLAYER
It works very well. I did put in my old 8 Minute Abs and Arms VHS cassette and I think the sprockets within the tape were frozen because it just wouldn't play and when I ejected it I had to cut the tape to remove the cassette and my splicing it back together skills are bad. IDK it was maybe too old and sprockets frozen sort of. Also another tape I put in wasn't playing correctly and when I put it in the other DVD/VCR PLAYER I bought from Porter Electronics awhile ago it worked fine. :-(( Another tape I inserted into the JVC player today is working fine. It's all good. I'm a happy customer and I'm sure I'll buy other of these type of players in the future!
